I discovered this gem and first met Sally about 23 years ago and it is always a treat to return. Such a lovely setting with nice wines. We visited over the weekend before the 4th and it was quite busy. We had a nice picnic packed, which was enjoyed by the bluffs. I travel everywhere with my registered service dog and though he enjoyed a nap under the picnic table, I try to support more dog friendly businesses. I was surprised to see they are not dog friendly. We will be back soon when on the Mendocino coast!
An absolutely unreal experience. One of the most beautiful views I’ve seen of the ocean AND drinking wine at the same time! Staff was so knowledgeable and kind! We did a wine tasting and all were very good. We will definitely be coming here every time we’re in the area! We bought a bottle and took it on an ocean picnic right after.
Wow, what an amazing place! Gracious friendly hosts that make amazing wine. The location is beautiful, all the seating options along the water. I wish we had gone in the summer to take advantage of the fire pit. The owner Sally was full of excellent advice and obviously very proud of where she lives. Cant wait to go back! The fact that it was adults only was an added plus.
After leaving Napa, we wanted to try a winery along the coast. Pacific Star was great not for their wines but more for their property and views. It's a great laid-back place to have several glasses of wine and move around to different sitting areas for the views. Had so much fun here. Would definitely recommend it for a fun experience.
Title: Pacific Star Winery: Where Vines Meet the Ocean Waves
Review:
Imagine sipping on a glass of exquisite wine, with the Pacific Ocean as your backdrop and a gentle sea breeze tousling your hair. Sounds dreamy, right? That's the magic of Pacific Star Winery, Fort Bragg's coastal gem.
Tucked away on California's scenic Route 1, this winery is so much more than just a place to sample great wines. It's an experience. From the moment you arrive, the panoramic ocean views set the stage for a day of relaxation and indulgence. And if you're a nature enthusiast, keep your binoculars handy! Depending on the season, you might catch a glimpse of majestic whales breaching and dancing on the horizon.
While the wines are undoubtedly the stars here, the outdoor seating adds another layer of charm. Benches are thoughtfully placed, offering visitors the opportunity to set up a quaint picnic while basking in the coastal ambiance. And if you happen to visit on one of their special event days, the live music perfectly complements the setting, enhancing the already vibrant atmosphere.
However, a word to the wise – Fort Bragg's coastal climate can be unpredictable. So, layer up, bring that cozy scarf, and be prepared for anything Mother Nature throws your way. Embrace the experience, come rain or shine.
Lastly, the journey to Pacific Star is an adventure in itself, with winding roads that demand careful navigation. So while it's tempting to indulge, always remember to drink responsibly.
In essence, Pacific Star Winery is a harmonious blend of nature, music, and exceptional wine. It's a slice of coastal paradise where every sip feels like a toast to the beauty of the Pacific. Cheers to an unforgettable experience! 🍷🌊🐋🎶🌟
Loved visiting here! Saw a sign that said “Tasting” and couldn’t resist. It was a beautiful place and had 5 delightful wines on the tasting when I stopped. It was a random, impromptu detour on my traveling along HWY 1 and I couldn’t be more pleased with it. The gift shop is adorable (and affordable) and the staff was very kind and knowledgeable of the wines, making sure to explain them when pouring the tastings. The seating area was very spacious and has a gorgeous view overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I visited for over an hour and was so thrilled, in fact, I purchased 2 bottles of their Charbono and thoroughly enjoyed every glass.
Unpretentious, yet in a place so beautiful and perfect. The view are just super natural, the space is great, the service is first class and the wine is good. They allow people to bring food and use the table which are spread all over the property. The tasting is $14 for 5 wines. This is the way wine tasting should be, and I appreciate it that about the place. This is a must stop when rolling up or down the famous Highway 1!
The most beautiful winery I've ever visited. And one of the most beautiful places in California I've seen.
